History of the Australian Labradoolde

The Labradoodle is a unique dog, a relatively new breed with a fascinating history that begins in Australia. The Australian Labradoodle breed was started by Wally Conrad for the Royal Guide Dogs in Victoria, Australia. The dog that originated the breed is said to have been named Sultan and was intended as a guide dog for a blind woman living in Hawaii whose husband was allergic to animal hair in 1989. The goal was to breed a breed of dog that is "Allergy and Asthma friendly" with the temperament of a service dog. He started with a Standard Poodle and a Labrador Retriever because he felt this mix was going to be perfect for the matching coat and temperament attributes needed for a service dog. Tegan Park and Rutland Manor continued the development and selection of the breed created by Wally Conrad. The Australian Labradoodles is not a simple mix between a Poodle and a Labrador, the English and American Cocker Spaniel intervene, the Spanish Water dog, who bring special qualities to the dog that Tegan Park and Manor Lake felt important to create the new breed with characteristics own. It is clear from the above that these dogs were created with a purpose. Its development was not to obtain "fashionable dogs" but was designed as a specialized service dog that did not exist until now. Like their cousins the Labrador Retriever and Golden Retriever, and so many other dogs that don't work as service dogs for which they were bred, most Labradoodles live as loving pets while only a few do the work for which they were created. as a race. It became a breed that stands out due to its intelligence, "asthma and allergy friendliness" and because they are dogs that lose little or no hair, very good and loyal companions determined to please their owners. If we combine these characteristics and add his excellent health and fantastic temperament we obtain the ideal dog. Unfortunately many people do not realize how and for what these dogs were originally intended. The Australian Labradoodles, initially dogs created for a good purpose, today meet unscrupulous people who for making money do not breed healthy or useful dogs. They just give it cute names instead of raising puppies that they contribute to their families. When you acquire an AL in our house, your puppy will be endorsed by the WALA (World Association of Australian Labradoodles) and will have passed all the tests that guarantee the purity of the breed. This same organization obliges us that in order to avoid malpractice, dogs are neutered before 18 months. We will deliver your puppy to you unspayed as studies show that spaying at such a young age can lead to health problems for animals. For this reason we will give you a document where you agree to sterilize the animal before 18 months and to send us the documentation that proves it.
